Hi I'm David Parente

I grew up on Long Island and have lived in many different parts of the country. I'm a banker, family man and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, father of five and grandfather of 4 wonderful grandchildren. My life is filled with lots of family activities and opportunities to serve both my family as well as others in my community and at work. I am a banker and enjoy the challenge of working with my business partners to grow a successful business. I enjoy being active, doing yard work, reading and playing tennis. I am married to a wonderful woman and we enjoy being together and doing fun things.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents listened to the Mormon missionaries when I was about a year old. They recognized the truth of their message of the restored gospel and were baptized. I was baptized when I was eight years old and I am very grateful for the good example that my parents and older brothers set for me. My parent's faithfulness to the gospel of Jesus Christ taught me that true happiness can only be found through obedience to God's commandments. By following the example of my parent's, I have been very blessed and have felt the guidance of the Holy Ghost helping me make important decisions such where to go to college, whether I should serve a church mission, who I should marry and should I have a family. Most of all, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because the Holy Ghost has witnessed to my spirit that God truly did restore the fullness of His Son's gospel in these latter days through the prophet Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

The guiding principles of how I live my life are pretty simple. I know this life is really a small part of my eternal existence and that I am here in this mortal life to learn how to be a better person by following the example of Jesus Christ. So, although I am imperfect, I have an ideal that I can strive to live up to. I try every day to keep God's commandments....to be honest, to serve others, to be compassionate to those in need, to be a good husband and father to my children. I love the "Golden Rule" and try to live it every day. I hope that I can always be a good example for my family, neighbors and co-workers.
