Hi I'm Antonia Montano

I grew up in Manila. My father is Chinese and my mother is Filipina. I'm a true Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy talking to others and singing Karaoke. I enjoy being around others. Others sometimes refer to me as the "Karaoke lady" because I do a lot of working out like dancing and singing. I will also show them some of the different styles of dance that I know. I like gardening and sharing ways that others can help themselves to eat properly which is so important. I like reading a lot of health books and cooking. I would prepare more foods that are healthy for our body. I like to play tennis and basketball to help keep myself fit and trim. I like to travel and seeing a lot of good places and learning about the culture of other countries and meeting people. I like reading the scriptures and especially the Old Testament. I love reading about history, any history. I like drawing and singing with little kids. I have learned a little bit of playing the piano. I enjoy arts and crafts including sewing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and I believe that it is another evidence that Jesus is the Christ. Also, I believe because the church is very organized and when you see how they help everyone in the church. It is the only church that has a true Prophet on the face of the earth, Thomas S. Monson. I have a strong testimony that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the Lord and because of him the Church was restored and he translated the Book of Mormon for us to read. I am so grateful for my life to Heavenly Father for all the blessings and I could serve Him with all my heart, all my strength and all my mind in the Philippines and I will have a chance to share my love with my own people in the Philippines Davao Mission and by going to the Provo MTC to learn the dialect of Davao I could express more my love for them by talking in their dialect. Especially those older people that don't know how to speak English. We could be more loving by talking to them in their dialect. We could do a lot of things like sharing their life experiences about their, this is a completely different place to me though, a completely different place.

How I live my faith

I like talking to people about the church and about their beliefs. I love going to the temple because I find more peace of mind there. I can meditate there and feel the closeness of the Lord to me. I can really feel the spirit there, and it is like talking to a person face to face and having Him answer me. Going to the temple is like leaving this world behind along with all the material things that this world traps you into. You experience more solitude and sacredness of being with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Sometimes you are sharing your time with these wonderful brothers and sisters and you feel more responsive to the answers of the prayers you receive there. I also serve in the choir and serve with the young women on Sunday and Wednesday night. Some of them don't have a ride and I am blessed to supply a ride for them. Sometimes I go with the missionaries when we have an investigator from the Philippines and it does not matter if it is our ward or not, I go where I am needed. When they get baptized I go with them to celebrate with them. When I see them in the church I make sure to greet them since I have born my testimony to them. I love reading and sharing the Book of Mormon and other scriptures with other people. Even with my family in the Philippines I bear my testimony and share the Book of Mormon with them.
