Hi I'm Katie

I'm from Utah, I love my family, fishing and camping. I want to be a doctor someday. I'm a Mormon girl.

About Me

I have four siblings, who are my best friends and married parents. Growing up I spent most of my summers fishing with my dad and swimming. I discovered that I love surgery, medicine, and serving others which has led me to become a premed student. I greatly enjoy my time in school. I'm excited to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints this fall in the Montana Billings Mission. Life is wonderful.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have found for myself that God hears and answers my prayers. Studying as a Biochemistry major at my university helps me understand that no one but God could have created such a glorious and detailed world, down to the tiniest electron. I love how the church brings my family together often, and stresses that we be kind to each other. The church is always trying to do good in the world, and I have seen it for myself in the community. The youth programs the church does for boys and girls strengthened my family, and increased the love I felt for each member of my family. I know that by following the word of wisdom, a set of guidelines for what we should or shouldn't take into our bodies such as drugs and alcohol has greatly enhanced my life. I feel in control of myself because I have never been addicted to anything. Following the guidelines has made me happy. Being a Mormon makes me happy. My family is the most important thing in the world to me. Bringing us closer together each week in church is a huge reason I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday I teach in church, and play the piano. Interacting with members of my church in different activities outside of church has brought me closer to the Lord. I am happy that I have chosen to live a clean life, free of alcohol and other harmful drugs. Each month I have the opportunity to reach out to an assigned girl in my apartment complex. It helps me make friends and have a support group.
