Hi I'm Erin Nielsen

Born and raised in Elko Nevada! Serving in Peru. Lover of yogurt, sports, running, art and this beautiful world. Im a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in northern Nevada. I have 5 sisters and 1 brother. My sibblings and I are very close and are literally my best friends. Eternity is just gonna be the BEST! In high school I played four years of Varsity soccer, basketball and track. I also was a member of our select traveling choir and competed in various festivals in places such as Hawaii and San Diego. I played in a worldwide soccer tournament in Madrid Spain when I was 15. I love photography and art. I love traveling to new places and trying new things! I am currently serving in the Peru Lima South mission until June 2015. My plans for my future are still undecided but I trust that my Heavenly Father is very mindful of me and will guide me in what HE wants me to become so I can continue to be an instrument for him, using and developing whatever talents he has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church to 2 wonderful parents who taught me to depend on my savior Jesús Christ, but I choose to be a Mormon because I have felt and seen the truth of what I learn in this góspel. I have obtained my own testimony and knowledge through prayer and asking if really this is the true church, and I have recieved my answers. It was simple, just a feeling of peace and contentment. And as I have builded upon that small testimony I have seen miracles and the love of my savior and heavenly father in my life. This is a knowledge anyone can come to know through asking for themselves through sincere prayer.

How I live my faith

Sharing the gosepl just feels natural to me because Im so passionate about what I believe. My Dad has been a great example to me of sharing the gospel and is not afriad to talk to anyone. We joke that we were born this way, we are a missionary family. We pray everyday as a family to find people for the missionaries to teach and have had many oppertunities to share the gospel as a family and teach other families in our home with the missionaries. Words cant describe those feelings as we shared what was the most important to us with someone else without those blessings and watch and share the experience as their lives begin to change and as they take that first step into their new lives entering the waters of baptism. With this example and experiences I was even more confident and excited to sharing the gospel with everyone! From a young age I can remember sharing the Book of Mormon with many friends and inviting them to church with me.Then going into high school I was able to be an example to those around me and share the gospel both verbaly and through my actions. Being an example to my friends is huge to me! They saw me as being different and I was earger to explain why! With so many non members in my sport team I have had many long bus rides to share the gospel and answer all their questions. Such as why I wouldnt be joining them at the games held on sundays, or why I would not drink with them or cuss or go to dances before I was 16 and many other standards I had. You cant truly live this gospel if you are not sharing it.
