Hi I'm Spencer

I like to swim a mile a few times a week. I enjoy eating healthy and going to the gym often.

About Me

I am currently a student at a university. There are interesting changes that come into our lives when we grow up by leaving high school and leaving Mom and Dads home. This transition for me has been hard in some ways, and good in others. I like to be positive, and so I choose to focus on all of the good that can come with this change in my life. Although I miss some of the fun memories of high school, I choose now to enjoy every moment I can with the people around me. I like to call this "finding joy in the journey, now" I know that this life is about learning and growing, and that each step we take is a necessary step to helping us become what God wants us to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, and I have prayed to know if it is true. I read the Book of Mormon over 10 times before I was 20 years old. I did this because I really wanted to know if it was true. Every time that I prayed to God I received answer. The answer to my prayers wasn't some angelic visit, or some great spiritual manifestation, but it was rather just a comforting and joyful feeling that told me in my heart that it was true. I am also a Mormon because I have listened to the living Apostles speak and I have felt the spirit so strongly as they have spoken. I can tell that they are called of God, and that God has restored his gospel upon the earth.

How I live my faith

I am an avid reader of the scriptures. I love to read them every day. I feel that this is one of the best ways that I can live my faith because it is the best way to get to know what my faith really is. By reading the scriptures I can find the true principles that Heavenly Father wants me to live. I enjoy visiting members of my church in my area. In the church it is called home teaching, but I like to think of it as being someones friend and support. I enjoy going by and seeing how they are doing, and trying to help them with their specific needs. I also enjoy preparing a message for them to hear so that they can feel the spirit, and live more fully Gods teachings.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Members of the Church believe that we are not tempted above that which we are able to bear. In 1 Corinthians 10:13, Paul explains this. We believe that each of us is tempted to break Gods commandments and that their is an opposition in all things. But we believe that we can overcome any temptation and choose the right.
