Hi I'm Alex Wylie

I'm a drummer, an engineer, self-motivated, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am Alex. I love music and engineering. I mainly play the drum set, but also like the piano and a little beat-boxing. I'm studying mechanical engineering and hope to land a career in robotics or engineering design. I love being outdoors, especially in the mountains. It's amazing to see all the amazing sights! I love keeping busy. I believe staying busy and being productive brings more joy than just sitting around waiting for the world to happen. I also believe in having a growth mindset, where everything that happens to me is an opportunity to grow. I love my family and frinds and enjoy spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have been surrounded by Mormons all my life, and it has been a great blessing. However, it still took me a long time to obtain my own testimony. I still had to read and pray about the Book of Mormon just like everyone else. I have a strong personal relationship with Heavenly Father. I know He loves me and knows me well. I know that Jesus Christ suffered, died, and rose again because He loves us. I strongly believe The Church of Jesus Christ is Christ's own church, and that it serves as a vessel to help us receive all the blessings of His gospel. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, it was translated by Joseph Smith, and that God loves all of us as His spirit children and wants us to become like Him.

How I live my faith

I am always striving to evaluate and improve the way I live so that my actions reflect what I truly believe, which is that living the gospel of Jesus Christ is the most intelligent way to live. I strive to live worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost so I can always be sensitive to His promptings. I strive to live worthy of the Priesthood of God that I hold so I can bless others lives. Daily prayer and scripture study is simple yet critical to progressing my spiritual growth. Attending church and taking the sacrament is so important to me. Without it, I can't fully take advantage of the cleansing and enabling power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have surely felt the impact of His Atonement in my life. Serving a mission has really helped me go back to the basics of increasing my faith: prayer, feasting on the words of Christ, partaking the sacrament, serving others. I'm striving to help those around me increase their faith as I see mine increase.
