Hi I'm Sammy

I'm a student, an awkward missionary, a reader, a kid at heart, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First off, I am a 21 year old kid. I love to have fun and play games. I have 4 siblings and 8 nieces and nephews. When we are all home it's a madhouse! My siblings are some of my best friends in the world! My favorite thing to do in the whole world is to read. I love to lose myself in a whole new world and learn about new things about new places. I also really enjoy ballroom dancing although I haven't done it in a few years. I go to BYU-I where I am studying English with the hopes of one day becoming an editor, at least that's the plan at the moment. However, I am taking a break so I can serve a full-time mission in the Mississippi Jackson Mission. The south is beautiful and the people are so nice. I am having the time of my life! I'm sad because It's almost time for me to go home, but I'm excited to start the next great adventure.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the LDS church because I know that it is true. I know that Jesus Christ is my Redeemer and that the only way to return to live with my Heavenly Father is through Him. I know that He suffered for my sins and that He know my every pain. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that Gods church and the keys of the priesthood were restored through him. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God, and that he receives revelation to prepare us to return to God. I know that the Word of Wisdom and the Law of Chastity are in place in order to protect us, and I'm so glad that Heavenly Father cares about us enough that he would give us these commandments. I am grateful that I was able to grow up knowing these truths.

How I live my faith

I am a full-time missionary. I have decided to dedicate 18 months of my life to serving the Lord and the people in the Mississippi Jackson Mission. Everyday I meet new people and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them. Being on a mission has really taught me the importance of prayer. I know that the only way I can handle being away from my home and family is by turning to my Heavenly Father for help. It feels like I am always praying, but I couldn't do it without Him! I love my life and I'm having a lot of fun doing what the Lord wants me to be doing.
