Hi I'm Colin Stuart

I'm a music enthusiast. I love to play piano. I doodle in my free time, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Coolest kid on the planet!... Just kidding :). I live in Utah with my family and I have four sisters (yep the only male sibling). I'm currently planning on going to BYU University to get some generals done and to find my major. I had a bit of Cali instilled in me recently as I served a full time LDS mission in the eastern suburbs of Los Angeles, California. Best decision of my life! I enjoy pretty much doing anything. I love listening to music, playing sports, hanging out with friends, or just relaxing at home with a controller in my hands (yes I can beat you at Super Smash Bros.) :). I play piano a lot too, and I would say music is my greatest hobby. I love Alternative music, especially bands like Keane (my favorite), Coldplay, or The Killers. I hope to someday write music professionally! All I know is persistence is what makes anyone successful.

Why I am a Mormon

I always thought the lifestyle of an LDS member was too cumbersome. Seeing the unhappiness that came to me by not following the standards of the church however made me realize something else. A lot of people believe commandments and religious organizations are out there just to keep us from our potential, or from us enjoying life, but from personal experience, I say differently. I do my best to live what I am because I know it will bring me happiness more than anything else. I know that God loves us enough to point us in the right direction, even if we don't want to go that way sometimes. I know he has to be incredibly patient with me, but I know he won't give up on me just because I'm weak. I know the church is true because I have asked God about it and he has again and again provided answers, especially as I have read the Book of Mormon. I love Jesus Christ and am grateful for all he has done for me, I'm grateful to be a part of His church.

How I live my faith

I have always grown up in the church, I was born in it in 1995. I was really just going through the motions as anybody does in their faith. My parents made me go to church each Sunday and I was taught the importance of reading scriptures, but it never really clicked with me why I needed to do this. Somewhere along the way in my early teens I got to the point where I really just didn't care about my religion at all. I went to church, and that was my spiritual nourishment, which wasn't much. I was starving spiritually, I didn't notice the gaping hole in my relationship with not only my Heavenly Father, but also with my family here on earth. I didn't feel close to anyone. I realized this one night when I randomly decided to fall on my knees and pray, I didn't know why I did it. I felt this sensational desire to change myself, to be better. I understood through the feelings that the Holy Ghost was giving me that the only way I could feel peace and come closer to my family was to continually nourish my spirit with the gospel of Jesus Christ. I began immediately. I am active in my church again, I am reading my scriptures daily, and I am constanly praying to my Father in Heaven because I need his guidance. I am living my faith today. I am doing so by serving as a missionary in the Arcadia, California mission. Here I am helping my Heavenly Father bring back my brothers and sisters into the gospel.
