Hi I'm Kaitlyn Insch

I grew up on the West Coast. I'm an artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a very artistic person. I enjoy creating things. I like to draw. I decorate cakes. I've tried sculpting, photography, making color prints, even origami. I'll try anything at least once. I like to make people laugh. I'm a theatre geek. I love to act, sing, dance, and just have fun.I love learning about other cultures and time periods. I like knowing how people think. It's one of the things that drew me to acting. I find everyday things beautiful. I look for beauty in everything around me. I love music. I play flute and was in marching band. I've marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Why I am a Mormon

Death was something that I was introduced to at a young age. I lost my bed-ridden grandfather when I was 6 and my other grandparents followed after that. They had lived full lives and died of natural causes. They were suffering and are better places now. It was when I had a friend die at the age of 18 from cancer that I had my first trial of faith. I had prayed for him to get better, but he didn't. I believed God answered all of my prayers, but he didn't answer this one. I prayed again and was told that everything was going to be okay. I wanted to know why, but that was my answer. I felt I had not been sufiiciently answered and I turned away from God. I went to church and the activities, but only because I was expected to. I didn't know if the church was true anymore. I struggled for years and was miserable. I was an unhappy person and I didn't let people get close to me. College changed all that. I made good friends and regained a testimony through study and prayer. I lived the church standards and decided to put my trust in God. Whenever you experience a spiritual high, it is usually followed by a spiritual low. I came home for the summer and I had a close friend commit suicide at 18. I was confused. I was with him the day before. It didn't make sense to me. I wanted to know why, what would happen to him. I prayed and was told that everything would be okay. Christ knew what was in his heart and mind. Understood what he went through.

How I live my faith

I love teaching. I substitute to teach the kids in church. I love serving others. I love talking to people and helping them with their problems. I live my faith by giving all of my time over to Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. I'm serving a mission and spreading the joy and peace that the church and its message brings me to others. I had a rough year and it was the Savior and his teachings that helped me through my struggles. I show my love for my savior by serving others and devoting my life to teaching and loving others as Christ would do if he was on the Earth in person.
