Hi I'm Catherine

I'm a Missionary and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Brigham Young University - Idaho, but have chosen to defer for 18 months. I was recently called to serve in the Utah Salt Lake City South mission. And I am so happy to serve! I love ballroom dancing, singing and playing the piano. I really love to be outside - playing in the mud is a favorite past time!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I don't think there is any better way to live my life. I feel joy and peace because I know that God has a plan for me and that He loves me. I continue to follow the Gospel because I have come to know of it's truth. And I feel like once you know it's true you can't deny it. I came to know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redemmer of the world when I was 15. And it changed my life. I think everyone goes through trials and struggles in their life, and having someone who understands makes everything more bearable. I know that people can change, and I know that we can come to know these things for ourselves as we kneel in prayer and ask God if He's really there - if He really loves us. I know that God answers prayers, and not only does he answer them, He hears them.

How I live my faith

Some of the ways I live my faith is on Sunday I play the piano for the first meeting in Church. I also teach sisters 18 years of age and older on Sunday. During the week I read from the scriptures and pray daily. I love serving others and feel so happy as I do so.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I feel like having an open heart and being willing to learn is essential in learning for yourself if The Church is true. I know that as you kneel in prayer and ask God if the things that you are learning are true, that He will answer, and you will come to know for yourself that these things are true. What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We believe that everyone is a spirit son or daughter of God, and we strive to love all as our brothers and sisters. We have a strong testimony of and faith in the family as the fundamental unit of society, and as such support and sustain marriage between a man and woman. the purpose of Marriage and Sexual relations therein, is to bring children into the world. We know that without the Family socities will crumble. God ordained Marriage and Family for us to learn and for us to expereinces all of the Joys of life. I know that the Family is of God, and that living the principles of the Gospel, (such as faith, and repentance ) will help me know how to raise children in this time. I have learned for myself that these principles are true because I have seen them in action and I know there is no better way to experience happiness and joy. Show more Show less
