Hi I'm Blake

I love life, sports, living on an island, and yeah, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah and loved every second of it. I was raised to love sports, outdoors and eating. My family has a deep rooted tradition in outdoor activities so I have always loved to camp, hike, fish, climb, (pretty much anything outside). I have always loved sports in general, especial basketball, football, and track and field. My mom has always told me that I learned to run before I learned to walk, so I guess I've just loved track ever since. I've been fortunate enough to win a state championship in the individual 400 meter and take medals in several other events. I now run for a university track and field program and have a goal to qualify for the NCAA championships in my next season. I also love music and the arts. I currently play guitar and have a goal to someday learn violin, piano, cello, and the bagpipes (we'll see). I also love drawing, painting, photography, and pretty much every form of visual art (except modeling). I love my family more that anything, and I am currently serving an LDS mission in the Dominican Republic.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always believed in God because I know that we have to be here for a reason and that we must have a purpose in this life. I have always believed that if God loves me enough to of given me all the things that I have, then he must care enough to teach me the way to return to him. I am a Mormon because I have a firm testimony in the absolute truth of the church. I know that God has one church that he heads now as in times of old. In Ephesians 4, it is made quite clear that God has one church which he leads. Thats the beauty in the Church of The Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Its the simplicity that it is either that one and same true Church of God, or it is not. I testify that it is, with all my heart I know that this is Christ's true church upon the earth. If I didn't have this knowledge then I would not be where I am today, but I am here, and I am more happy to have this truth than I have words to describe. If I had one wish it would be that others could feel this same happiness that I feel everyday. That others could know of their loving Father in heaven and of Jesus Christ our savior. That's why Im serving for 2 years, because I know the church is true and I want others to have that same knowledge.

How I live my faith

I have always been actively engaged in my ward and stake by going to activities and fulfilling callings. My favorite callings include being a primary teacher and serving and full time mission. I am currently serving for two years in the Dominican Republic and have loved it despite the challange.
