Hi I'm Eliza Marchant

I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I love Portuguese and Brazil! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I just began an 18 month mission to serve the Lord in Ribeirao Preto Brazil. I am so excited to leave all my worries and cares behind and to go work for my Savior and King. Before my mission, I finished one year at Brigham Young University studying pre-nursing. I loved every second of my time there and have learned more than I ever imagined. I love music and have taken many music classes including piano and conducting lessons. My other hobbies at school include dance and tennis. I am not very good at either of those but I sure enjoy doing them! I have been very blessed throughout my life with a wonderful family who formed great childhood memories for me. I am now ready to become absorbed in the service of others and to see the world. The future looks very bright! A igreja e verdadeira!

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ means everything to me. I was born and raised in this church, so it was always somewhat expected of me to have a testimony of God. But I have not always been as solid firm in my testimony as I would have liked. I would feel the Spirit of God strongly in my life, but then a few weeks later I would forget and doubt my beliefs. It has taken me a while, but throughout my teenage years and especially in college I have learned not to forget those spiritual moments. I have learned to remember the strong, joyful feelings I have when I read the Lord's words and follow His prophets. When I consistently study the Book of Mormon I am happier and more willing to serve. I know that that book was truly inspired and brought forth by the power of God through the prophet Joseph Smith. I am amazed at the faith and diligence of Joseph Smith, and I am so grateful for all that he did to help restore Christ's true Church to the earth. The truths and strength I have gained through this gospel bless my life and my family every day. I am so excited and at peace because of God's plan and the opportunity that I have to live with my wonderful family forever. This is the way. It is Christ's plan and the only true way to find complete happiness. Jesus Christ lives and is my Savior and King. I want to serve him all of the days of my life.

How I live my faith

I love going to church. I learn so much every week and it always reminds me why I need to do what is right. At church I have mostly been involved with music responsibilities such as conducting the hymns, playing the piano or organ in Sacrament Meeting, and helping out with the ward choir. I love to bear my testimony through music, and my favorite music to play has always been church arrangements.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Eliza Marchant
Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, has made it possible for all of us to find joy throughout this life and in the life after death. Through His atonement, He opened the door for us to change when we make mistakes and to be constantly improving. Without His sacrafice and love, we would be forever stuck in unhappiness and could never be forgiven of our sins. But because of Christ, all of our misdeeds can be repented of. He has given us an eternal hope. We never need to be completely at a loss or distraught beyond repair because he has built for us a road to happiness. If we have faith and desire to repent, He will lift us up when we fall. Christ will always be there, and He is ready and willing to help us fix our problems to come closer to Him. I know that my Redeemer lives! Show more Show less
