Hi I'm Andy A.

I grew up on a farm in Missouri, but became a professional musician (trumpeter). I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am happily married to my sweetheart of 15 years and have 6 wonderful kids. I have three girls and three crazy boys. I have a Doctorate in Music and am a full time musician in a US military premiere band. I grew up in a large family of 10 children as the youngest. My joys are playing and listening to orchestral and jazz music, and spending as much time as I can with my family. I have just recently become interested in doing research on my family history.

Why I am a Mormon

This is a difficult section to discuss, because there are so many reasons that I am a Mormon! First, I couldn't be more happy and know my place in life and eternity any better! The Church has given me direction and allowed me to infinitely know the Savior Jesus Christ personally in my life. I love serving others and being there for my family. My wife and I have the same goals as we are married for time and all eternity in a temple of the Lord. We made covenants in the temple between the Lord and ourselves, so it affects every area of our relationship and how we bring up our kids. Despite troubles that occur in work, life, pain, etc these principles and feelings above always bring me back to the source of true happiness. I want my family and I to live in our Savior Jesus Christ's presence for eternity.

How I live my faith

I work in my LDS ward as a Bishop. A Bishop is the eccliastical leader of our congregation of around 400 members. I help with administrative and spiritual guidance responsibilities, essentially as the "pastor" of our congregation. I work to ensure good instruction and guidance for our young men and young women. I really enjoy seeing the young women earn their Personal Progress award which is a major feat that involves gospel knowledge, service to others, devotion to God, and developed leadership roles and traits. I have loved helping the young men earn their Eagle Scout Award for Boy Scouts and their Duty to God awards as well. The strength that I see from our youth in these modern days is incredible! They show so much courage to stand up for the right in the midst of the filth that is so readily at their fingertips, at school, and in their lives. I live my faith because I love God, my family, and others! I love the way it feels to serve others and the happiness it provides me and my family. My family stays focused on these spiritual goals that are taught in my faith, because we know that through our obedience, love, and the Atonement of Christ we can be a family in this life, but also the next! We were married in the temple for that purpose, and everyday the decisions I make are related to these promises I have made to Heavenly Father and my family. I love living my faith!
