Hi I'm Gary

I'm from a small farming town in Idaho. I love the outdoors and hunting and fishing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student in University and have been for three years. I like to hunt with my dad and brothers and fish with my wife. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in Canada. I like small towns where there is a slower pace of life and money isn't the driving factor in most people's lives. I am not anti-money or anti-wealth, I just don't worship it and I look for happiness in obedience to God's commandments. I've grown up learning the value of hard work and I appreciate that quality in others as well. Laziness bothers me and I try to make effective use of my time. I struggle knowing what I want to do with the rest of my life and sometimes I struggle knowing what God wants me to do. I know He lives and watches over me and all His children, but knowing what He needs of me specifically can be difficult to figure out sometimes.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and attended regularly all of my life. I had my bumps in the road as I grew up, but I still consistently attended church and read my scriptures. I grew a testimony gradually during this period and I didn't receive a confirmation of the Book of Mormon and the divinity of the calling of Joseph Smith until I was in my teens, but I looked at the kind of life that was taught at church and in my home and the fruits of living that lifestyle and decided that it was good and that I should continue to live according to the Savior's principles of happiness. I have received a spiritual witness of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I try to be obedient everyday. I know that we are led by true prophets and apostles today who have received their calling from the Savior through His established Priesthood channels. Because of this knowledge, I have peace in my life despite the storms and temptations that are normal in life, and I know that my Savior is near and He will guide me, love me, and help me to find true happiness and joy.

How I live my faith

I serve in my married student ward and love my calling. I am a home teacher and love that calling! I have made many friends by faithfully hometeaching and have a testimony of the importance of it. I try to help those around me and I try to be more observant of people in my daily walk of life who need a boost, then try to give them that boost. I am a husband and I try to serve my wife everyday, even if it is little, because that is how eternal marriages are made.
