Hi I'm Jacey King

I grew up in the desert. I am a huge book worm, and I love art in any form. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

If I see words, I read. I love to read books, and in fact, about 2/3 of everything I own are books. Textbooks, history books, how to books, biographies, fiction, non fiction, I love it! I taught myself how to read before I was three years old, and I haven't looked back since. I am super excited to go to college. I really want to study art. I've been drawing my whole life, and I keep getting better all the time! Art allows me to express what I feel and see, without having to stumble over my words. It has such life and vivacity, it's really integral to humanity. I love classic rock'n'roll! My favorite music is from the 1950's, 60's, and 70's. I have a collection of vinyl records that I am quite proud of. I was even a poodle skirt clad doo-wop girl in a 50's show for two summers!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and I've kind of always had faith in it. I didn't have one powerful conversion moment, just lots of little experiences that helped me to know that what I was doing was right. One of the main reasons why this church is so important to me is because it teaches about the Plan of Salvation and the love that our Heavenly Father has for us, and that we can be with our families forever. My mother passed away when I was eleven years old, and that was probably the hardest thing I've gone through so far. It affected me emotionally, physically, and socially, to the point where I just felt so lost and alone and didn't know what I was doing. But through prayer and reading the scriptures, as well as church attendance, I've built a testimony that I know for a fact that I will be with my mother again, as well as all of my loved ones who have passed on. Every time I pray about it, this overwhelming feeling comes over me, and I just cannot deny the truth of it. I love being Mormon!

How I live my faith

I've been active in the church for as long as I can remember! I love to pray and read my scriptures, they bless me with answers to all my questions, even ones I didn't know I had! Currently I am serving in the Idaho Pocatello Mission as a missionary for the church, and I am loving every minute of it. I love to help out those in need, and just get to know people better and come together in Christ. It's amazing how well you can connect with people when you talk about the Savior and how much he loves each of us.
