Hi I'm Alandra

The arts, music, friends and family are my thing! I'm currently serving in the Iowa Des Moines Mission and proud to be mormon!

About Me

I'm someone who devotes my life to helping others. I strive to see the good in the world everyday though it's tough. I like having crazy adventures with friends no matter what the degree. The performing arts, reading/literature and hiking are my passions and shows no sign of stopping. I'm always out to make new friends and learn of new cultures! Traveling is on the agenda for my future as well as gaining a career in Architecture.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always had many challenges in my life that have made things difficult not only for me, but for friends and loved ones around me. This gospel gives me the hope I need in dark times to get me through to the end. It allows me to see my purpose in life and know that though I'm not perfect, I can obtain the greatest happiness that everyone deserves. I'm thankful knowing that my family and I can be together even after death. We've been through a lot together and I love knowing that we can reap the benefits of enduring later. While growing up, as everything else around me changed and never stayed the same, the gospel of Jesus Christ allows me an anchor to hold onto. This is an anchor I will happily never let go of. It took me a long time to really see and understand where I fit in. Once I reached a time in my life where I needed to learn for myself whether or not this gospel is true, I really struggled. But now that I have learned from myself by praying, reading the scriptures and striving to live God's plan for me, I couldn't ever see my life being happy without this gospel. Because of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I can see the big picture and truly be happy throughout the ups and downs of life.

How I live my faith

While in the youth program, I assisted in the presidency and made sure my fellow youth had what they needed. Now I strive to stay an example to others and help teach just what this gospel is about as a missionary of the Lord in the Iowa Des Moines Mission. My favorite part of all my church callings is seeing just how much of an impact one person can make in many others. I've enjoyed seeing the physical changes in people as they've reached goals in their life. Because I know that this gospel is true, I am happy all the time. Just from showing that joy I feel outwards towards others, I know that I'm not only showing my Heavenly Father this truth, but others as well. I take advantage of the gift of the Atonement every single day of my life. When I make mistakes, I know that through Jesus Christ I can learn from them and improve. To sum it all up, I live my faith by being who I really am; A daughter of my Heavenly Father.
