Hi I'm Karla Perez

I grew up in Canada speaking Spanish, French and English. I studied Translation; I work as a Secretary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a member all my life, or specifically since I was baptized a few months after I turned 8. My parents actually waited until I asked them to be baptized. Not because they didn't want me to be baptized, but because they've always let me and my siblings make our own decisions when it comes to spiritual matters. This said, i'm grateful for their example and for guiding us in the right path. I served a mission in Canada-Vancouver, and I love being a Mormon. I love that we have the Book of Mormon, as well as the other Scriptures, including of course the Bible, and the great wisdom we can find in them. I'm married to a wonderful man named Oscar, and we hope to soon start our family. I'm grateful to have the teachings of Christ in my life. I know they will be a support to our family, with whatever challenges come our way, along with many great blessings, I'm sure.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon by choice. Some may think not, because I was 'born' into it, but trust me, I had to gain my own knowledge about God and Jesus Christ. I'm glad that my life in and outside attending Church meetings and living the Gospel is not two different ones. I do not "live a religion" - my religion and my life are one and the same. It is a lifestyle, and based on truth, it can only be a happy and secure one. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I want to be His disciple, and if you want to put a label on it, that starts by me being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being who I am, by not hiding my beliefs yet being careful and tacful as to how, when and to who I share them. I'm not perfect; I take every day as a learning experience and try to do better the next day. I won't give up and know that even though I will make mistakes along the way, my faith in Jesus Christ will help me along. He is my foundation, and I know that by making Him and His teachings - and great example - central to my life, I will find success and happiness in this life and thereafter.
