Hi I'm Katie

I'm a social work student. I love to photography and music. I'm the youngest of five kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm in school working towards my bachelor's degree in social work. I've seen so many broken families and lives and can't wait to use my degree to help ease that pain, even if it's just a little bit. When I'm not writing papers or studying for a test, I love to pull out my camera and take pictures, especially of my adorable little nephew. I also love music! I'm one of those people who sings along in the car and tries to play guitar. Music just makes me happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because there's no way I could live in this world with all it's craziness and not have the peace that comes when I pray and know that God is listening and loves me. I grew up in a family with 3 out of my 4 siblings diagnosed with a mental illness. When I was younger, I wanted more than anything for my family to be normal and to have a sister that I could actually have that sister bond with instead of a sister that wanted to talk about animals all the time. But because of the church, I know that after this world, I have the opportunity to meet all my siblings in their perfect form and without these illnesses that they had here. I know that God put me in this family for a reason and knew how much it'd force me to grow as a person and how much love and compassion it'd give me towards others. I know on days where I get frustrated and it seems like nothing will go right, he's just a pray away and will do everything in his power to help me if I'm keeping my end of the deal by keeping the covenants I made at baptism and since then. But he doesn't just love the people who are keeping those covenants either! All those people who are out there struggling to find truth or don't know there even is truth, he loves ALL of them! If you just ask for him to be there with you as you go through trials, he will be, all you have to do is ask!

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I get the opportunity to meet with other people my age and go to church. I love learning from their insights and having my testimony grow from the spirit that is felt there. Specifically I'm in charge of making food for our monthly "Munch and mingle" where we get the chance to eat good food and make new friends. I love to cook and love to meet new people, so this is seriously in my element! Love it so much!
