Hi I'm Derek Lynn

Born in Wyoming, grew up in Mona, Utah. Served an LDS mission in New England. Now attending BYU-I.

About Me

Born in Wyoming, then lived in Utah my whole life. Lived in Salt Lake City until I was about 10; then I moved to Mona, Utah. Then I lived there the rest of my childhood with my three little sisters. Lots of cows, horses, chickens, fields, and dirt. Grew up in the country life, and it was great! And I wouldn't trade anything in the world for it. I ran track and cross country in high school, and joined speech and debate my senior year, they were all very fun. After graduating from high school, I went to Utah Valley University for one year. Now I attend BYU-I.

Why I am a Mormon

If I could sum it up in 6 words it would be "I read the Book of Mormon" In my life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I make in all reality small sacrifices, and exercise particles of faith, and in return I have been given so much happiness in my life. I don't let the world shape me into what it wants me to be. I shape myself into what I want myself to be; and I want what God wants. There is truly a lot of sadness in the world today when people have no morals in their lives. I invite all to give the LDS church a good hard, heartfelt look, and if you do, you'll be able to see what makes us Mormons tick.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do the things that Jesus Christ did while he was on the earth. I try to put myself around those who look like they need a friend. I enjoy looking back on my day and thinking about the happiness I may have brought into some else's life through a simple act of kindness.
