Hi I'm Samantha Parks

I am a sophmore in high school, music junkie, and extremely creative. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of NINE kids (step and half). I have two brothers, and when my mom and dad were both remarried, I got one step brother, three step sisters, and two twin half brother and sister. I LOVE music... I am a part of my high school jazz band playing the piano, I used to play tenor and alto saxophone, and I love to sing. My favorite band is definitely Imagine Dragons, and my favorite song is I Bet My Life, which I listened to before it was on the radio. I love to do lettering, and usually find myself doing different projects for various events including the young women. My friends describe me as inspirational, because I have a love for quotes and am nice to everyone without even trying. If I notice someone is sitting alone or is just staring at their feet, I will do my best to make kind gestures and be there friend. I am always smiling and laugh at everything... I'm not very good at the "straight face" game. Lastly, I don't really watch TV or play video games, but I do love Doctor Who and Sherlock. I am guilty of being a part of those fandoms.

Why I am a Mormon

I have gone through many trials, and being apart of this church has helped me get through them. When I feel alone, or think I'm not wanted, I always have the lord to turn to, or I can read the scriptures to find answers. I have been a Mormon since birth, but don't think for a second I am a molly mormon. I have endured many trials, and have remained faithful, knowing my Heavenly Father loves me and I will be able to return to him.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a little difficult with the split homes, and the only active members in my family (just between parents and siblings) are my mom and two "blood related" brothers. I am always trying to volunteer for different things, and usually get involved through the other guys and girls my age at church. My favorite is volunteering at the bishops storehouse, a place where people who are not able to provide very well for their families are able to get the food and supplies they need as long as the bishop see's it fit. It is incredible seeing all these people. Despite their situation, they still remain faithful and happy. At school, I have a close relationship with all the disabled kids. When I grow up, I want to be a special education teacher, so I try to talk to those kids as much as I can. At lunch I go over and talk to them, give fist bumps, and often have the kids tell me they love me, which always makes my day.
