Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a perpetual student, a partner, a boundaries-pusher, a dispatcher, a feminist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've moved more than 20 times and lived in seven states from the west coast to the east. During that time I've had tons of jobs but none I love more than dispatch. I'm an avid rescuer of animals and a few of them have 'landed' with my husband and me. I prefer mountains to the beach. I'm totally inappropriate and have the humor of (speaking generally) a 12-year-old boy. I love to read and spend lots of time finding new authors. I'm a CASA advocate for foster kids and I spend TONS of my time on that. I'm always up for a conversation and I love spending time with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's what feels right and true for me. I sometimes have a hard time with the doctrines. I'm not someone who finds faith easy and I certainly don't settle for the answer of 'that's just how we do things'. I like to push for answers and it's been a life-long journey to understand my place in this faith. In the end I can say that when I'm active in my religion and doing the things I think I are important I'm most happy. I'm happy to be part of a community of fellow Mormon feminists and progressive thinkers that make me feel at home. My hope is always for more diversity, more love, more unity and I often feel those things in the Gospel and, as it hopefully follows, the Church. I work all the time on what I believe and why I 'stay' but I feel like this is a good place to be full of good people and good ideas. That makes me open to and happy to say, "I'm a Mormon."

How I live my faith

I live my faith quietly and as a guide for all of my actions. I try to serve where I can. I work with the kids, usually, teaching or playing the piano. I often fly under the radar and that's exactly how I like it.
