Hi I'm Hyrum

I have lived in the United States my whole life and I am very interested in science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a part of the church my whole life and was baptized at the age of eight. I love to work with computers and with mechanical things. I will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Minoring in Computer Science. I really enjoy trying to make music and do computer programming.

Why I am a Mormon

I was given a choice to be Baptized into the church. I accepted and became a member. I have read the Book of Mormon and found it to be the word of God along with the Bible through prayer. I know I have been blessed by staying faithful since my baptism and have had continual happiness because of it. The church has been such a support in my life and granted me with opportunities to serve others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing as the Saviour would have me do. As I do this, I can become closer to my Father in Heaven and do good for others. I try to set an example to others by my language, my actions, and my deeds. I live my faith by sharing my happiness with others with a consistent enthusiasm.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, Mormons are Christians! We follow the teachings of Christ and we know Him to be our kind and loving Savoir. The name of our Church also denotes us as Christians, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

The Restoration of the Gospel was needed because after Christ and all his apostles were killed, the Church fell apart and its authority of God was lost. This is called the Great Apostasy. The records of these events and preceding were all recorded in what we know as the Bible. The Bible, though, has lost many plain and simple truths that were available during the time of Christ through mistranslations and omissions over several hundred years. A restoration was needed for the fullness of the Gospel to be available. A loving Heavenly Father chose a time to restore it when we could reap the most benefits from it. Show more Show less
