Hi I'm Joe

I grew up in Arizona. I love running and mountain biking. I'm an emergency physician and father of five. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Arizona where I went to school including both undergraduate and medical school at the University of Arizona. I served a 2-year mission to Mexico City where I developed a great love and respect for the Mexican people. We moved to Texas to complete my training as an emergency physician where we have lived since. My family loves spending time together, swimming, mountain biking, and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith in Jesus Christ and involvement in the Mormon church has enriched my life in many ways tempering my relationships with family, friends, and coworkers. It has added depth, meaning, and happiness to my life. I have come to rely heavily on my faith, especially in my role as father where I feel it keeps me centered and reminds me of who I really am and why I am here.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve and minister to others through my membership in the church. One of the most amazing experiences of my life was my 2-year church mission to Mexico City where I shared the gospel full time. Since that time I have enjoyed many different assignments to serve and teach both the youth and adults in several capacities. Most recently I had the great opportunity to be involved as president of the men's organization in our local congregation where I was able to visit them regularly in their homes to help build their faith and discuss our roles as fathers and husbands.
