Hi I'm Michael Doman

I still consider myself a young lad, but I love to talk from law and business to movies, but especially about my faith.

About Me

I love to learn about everything. I am passionate about reading, listening to music, and all forms of competition and games. I am the second oldest child in my family of seven, and love to spend time with my family. We love to play card games and currently are engrossed in the thrilling masterpiece classic "Downton Abbey." We have seven acres of land and love to play outside and grow all sorts of plants. I just graduated high school in northeast Missouri, and am now serving a two-year mission in Campinas, Brazil from 2013-2015. I have been so blessed on this mission, and feel the spirit of God working miracles in my life as I am obedient and work hard. I want to be a lawyer when I grow up, but also have a deep interest in economics. I love 80's rock music and current pop, and enjoy introducing my more old-fashioned dad to newer music! I love to travel, to visit places all over the united states of historic significance or simple beauty, or preferably, both!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the way it makes me feel--safe and happy. I love Jesus Christ and want to be part of the church that is exactly the same as the church he has set up throughout the ages, including having a modern day prophet. This continual guidance means so much to me. So many times throughout my life I have found answers to questions I have had, guidance through trials, and great advice from the scriptures (Bible and Book of Mormon) and through the guidance of church leaders and revelation from the Holy Ghost. I have a firm conviction that we all can know divine truth for ourselves, it doesn't have to be proven or evidenced--faith is all that is required. I have faith in Christ and his plan for all of us, and know that through Christ we can do all things. In fact, as I type about Christ right now I feel a sweet feeling of peace that once again confirms to me the reality of his life, gospel, and commandments for us. May we all try to be more like him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by applying it to both everyday actions and life decisions. Currently I live my faith by choosing to sacrifice my time and other conveniences to serve a full-time mission. I do not do this merely out of a sense of obligation, but because I love the gospel and know it can bring happiness to everyone. I choose everyday to say my prayers, try to be more like Christ, and be kind to those around me. I support the members that go to my church, visiting some families once a month that I am assigned to, and making friends with those of other faiths. I love the connection that immediately can be made between two people based on mutual faith in Jesus Christ. These personal connections, no matter what they are based in, should always lead to service, and I strive to serve all those around me as Christ did when he was on the earth.
