Hi I'm Michelle

I love going on and creating adventures, I'm an ice cream lover, a teacher, a wife and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Adventure is what I'm all about! My dad is the culprit who instilled in me an adventurous spirit. From driving to Alaska, exploring glaciers and mountain terrain to building homes and laying sod I definitely had a diverse upbringing. Exploring with my dad and family helped me want to create my own adventures and I have been able to do just that! I play softball whenever I get the chance. I have been black water rafting in the caves of New Zealand and even met the Prime Minister! I was a river guide. I enjoy reading, crocheting, watching movies, traveling, hiking, biking, camping, canyoneering, rock climbing, boating, skiing, and am up for anything outdoors. I also graduated from college and I am now an elementary school teacher. I recently got married and love being a wife! I have enjoyed the adventures I have had so far in my life and I'm excited to create and have many more.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was four years old my mother suddenly passed away. My dad was left to raise a seven year old, a five year old, and a four year old. What a hardship for him and for all of us! I quickly had to choose who I would rely on for help. Would I rely on the things of the world or would I rely on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? Teachings from my parents and from attending church helped me know that the way to a happy and good life was to follow Heavenly Father and His teachings and to lean on the Savior for comfort, strength, and guidance. I chose the Savior. Throughout my life I have put my faith in Him. As I have done this I have been lifted from despair. Jesus Christ who gave His life for me has carried me through my life. I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me. I know Christ died for me and atoned for my sins. I know He lives. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Jesus Christ's only true church on the earth today. I know The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. How do I know these things? Because I asked. I read The Book of Mormon and prayed to Heavenly Father. I asked Him if the words in it were true. I asked Him if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was indeed His true church. The answer I received was, "Yes. Yes, it is the true Church." I know you too can know these things for yourself. If you sincerely ask God with a desire to know the truth you will receive an answer. He will let you know the truth. He loves you.

How I live my faith

I love serving and helping others. This is a big part of how I live my faith. Every chance I get to help and uplift others I jump on it. I currently am a Wolf Cub Scout Leader. I love working with all my Wolves! They are at such a fun age. They love to create, learn, and explore. As their leader I help them develop their talents while creating new ones. I also help them become great citizens of this nation and know they are of great worth and can achieve success, because they are sons of God. I also have the privilege of teaching 7 year olds in our church meetings. This is an awesome age group to teach, because it is the year before they will get baptized. In The Church of Jesus Christ children are baptized at the age of 8. This is because it is the age of accountability. Which means children cannot sin before they are 8. Once they are they are held accountable for their actions. Therefore they can sin. My class of children is beaming with light and knowledge of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They are eager to learn more about His gospel and how to follow and serve Him. Another way I live my faith is by reading scriptures and praying daily. I also attend church meetings every week. There I am able to learn and talk with other members of The Church about the gospel. I find comfort, strength, and guidance as I do these things. I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life and to know of God’s love for me. It has blessed my life and I know it will bless your life!
