Hi I'm Jared

I am a Violist and Violinist, certified EMT-B, a current Church Volunteer assigned to Yekaterinburg Russia and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the church and enjoy playing the Viola and Violin. I like sports, and history. I went to South Carolina Region and All-State Orchestra my freshman year of high school, and Texas Region 12 Orchestra Junior year. I participate heavily in JROTC. I took an EMT course senior year of High School, and am now certified as an Emergency Medical Technitian! I love the medical world! I am serving as a church volunteer, right now I am in the MTC, but soon I will be in the Russia Yekaterinburg Area.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and never really appreciated it when I was younger, but the I realized later on that there is something more to the church. Just a few years ago I decided to put real thought and prayer into my dedication to this church and began to realize the truths that the Book of Mormon has, the sacrifices that the prophets of old made so that we can read the words and be filled with the spirit. EFY (Especially for Youth- a church camp designed to help the youth of the church recognize the Holy Spirit and live in accordance to the commandments God has given us) has seriously made an impact on my life and my understanding of the gospel expanded significantly. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to return to him and because He loves us, He gave us Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are true testaments of Jesus Christ and that they compliment each other. I have come to discover that in order to return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that not only must we believe in Christ to be saved, but we must do all that we can to return to live with Christ. Grace to is offered to us is waiting for us, but just a friend helping us off the floor, we have to reach up to grasp their hand. I have had many times when I, a sinner, have felt like my sins have buried me farther than possible to return to a "saved" state. But each time, there is a light in the dark that is Jesus Christ. He died for my sins. He died for your sins. He died so that you, and I, no matter how terrible our mistakes, can be saved. All we need to do is pray, and our Father for forgiveness, and promise with all of our hearts to do better, and live in a way that we are able to reach up and take Jesus Christ's hand. I know this things to be true because I have lived it, and seen it in my life, and others. I have felt the power of forgiveness, and the support that our Lord and Savior gives me as I promise to live better.

How I live my faith

I go to youth activities and invite other members to come, I help everyone to have an enjoyable time. I prepare and bless the sacrament (similar to communion) along with a few other young men to be given to the congregation. I serving as a missionary for this church! I live the gospel by being clean in action, and conversation. "Preach the gospel at all times and if necessary, use words."
