Hi I'm Joerg

I grew up in Germany. So did my children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a dad. I used to work as IT consultant. My children have their own families and we meet for birthdays and other occasions. I like languages, photography and classical music. As a young boy I liked taking apart and building a radio. Today, I still like to better understand electronics and use a breadboard to test ideas. As I am interested in Japan, I also started to like Sushi. Learning Japanese has become a long term project.

Why I am a Mormon

In my late teens I saw two young men every morning, as I was walking our dogs. They wore white shirts and tie. One carried the milk the other one the rolls. Being interested in learning languages, a friend of mine told me, to address these young men as they were giving English classes. I did and joined their class. Once a week they had an English class followed by a class on general gospel knowledge. I got very interested in the gospel class which was an eye-opener to me. Eventually I also visited their Sunday meetings and liked what I saw and heard. After reading the Book of Mormon, I prayed to know whether it is true or not. And I received the confirmation, that it was true and that its translator, Joseph Smith jun., was indeed a prophet of the Lord. With that testimony, I asked my mother for permission to be baptized into this church. She agreed. I have since been able to keep learning more about the gospel of Jesus Christ with no end in sight. I have benefited greatly from the teachings of living prophets and I continue to do so. It helps me to become a better person in that it teaches me Christlike behavior.

How I live my faith

I am always serving in some church activity.
