Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a band geek. I play tennis. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a recent high school graduate. Throughout middle and high school I was highly involved with the band program. My main instrument was Baritone Saxophone although I also performed on French Horn, Trombone, Bass Trombone, Viola, English Horn, and Alto Saxophone. My favorite was a tie between French Horn and Bari Sax. I was also involved in tennis. I played singles throughout my sophomore and junior year and played doubles in my senior year.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and have remained strong in the faith throughout my life. I like this church, because I am a logical person. I have taken stories from the early LDS church and compared them to stories in the Bible and they fit. The organization of the church is the same as the organization Christ gave to the Church while he was on the Earth. Joseph Smith's vision matches the visions received by Samuel, Moses, and other ancient prophets. I have also prayed and received a witness from the Holy Ghost that this is the true church. Despite all of the logical connections I have made, this witness is the strongest part of my testimony. The Spirit has given to me a sure foundation for my testimony and I will not depart from it.

How I live my faith

I have been in leadership positions 5 3/4 of my 6 years in my youth groups. I was in charge of organizing weekly activities with my age group and ensuring they got carried out. I would try and invite nonmembers to come to enjoy being with them. I was also extremely involved with the scouting program. I was a senior patrol leader, team captain, and varsity president.

Are Mormons Christians?

Christians are followers of Christ. A missionary's call is to "invite others to come unto Christ". In 2 Nephi 25:26 it says "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." If this doesn't qualify us as Christians, I don't know what does. Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

I think the most basic answer was given by Elder Nelson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, "Ask the missionaries! They can help you!" The missionaries will come over and teach you about the gospel of Jesus Christ and invite you to do things to align your will with the will of God until such a point where you are familiar with the church and are following the commandments so you have the power to overcome temptation more fully after you are baptized and become a member of the church.
