Hi I'm Brett

I grew up in Spanish Fork. I love to do weight lifting. I am currently a BYU student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My main interest and hobby is going to the gym and working out. I have always had a hard time staying in shape and going to the gym regularly. Recently, I have found a lot of interest in the gym. I now have a goal to be in the best shape of my life. I hope to make this a lifetime pursuit. I am going to college at BYU and attempting to go to medical school. I love science and hope to someday become a doctor. I am going to serve a mission in California. I know its the right thing for me to do and I am going to go and serve the lord the best way that I can. In my family I have 3 brothers and 1 sister. I am the oldest of them all. They can be so funny at times. Other than that I love to hang out with friends, go watch movies, and play sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the LDS church because I have come to know for myself that this is the only true church on the earth today. Whenever I read the Book of Mormon I feel the spirit telling me that what I am reading is true. Unlike most people I feel that I don't have one defining moment in my life that told me this was the true church. I was born into the church and for much of my younger years I didn't understand that this was the true church. I simply went to church because my parents told me to go to church. Thinking back on my life I realize now that I know that this is the true church. For me, gaining my faith was gradual and imperceivable. Now I can say without a doubt that I know that this is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. I know that the priesthood that this church holds gives us the authority to baptize and participate in saving ordinances for the living and the dead. I know that the prophet Thomas S. Monson and all of the other general authorities receive revelation from God about what we should do in these difficult times. Last of all I know whole heartedly that the Book of Mormon is from God. The book of Mormon holds guidance and counsel for us in these latter days. If we read the book of Mormon we can find answers to all of life's questions and problems.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week and participate in ward activites all the time. At this time I don't actually have a calling because I am leaving on my mission. There is a lot of service to be done in this ward and I try to do as much service as I can find and as much service as I have time for. Right now I mow my elderly neighbors lawn every week because they are not physically able to mow it. I simply try to keep my eye out for opportunities to serve.
