Hi I'm Oliver

I grew up in Salt Lake. I love ultimate frisbee, hanging out with friends and playing music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently on a mission in Belgium and the Netherlands. Before I left I went to a year of college. I'm currently planning on majoring in animation, as well as getting a minor in book arts. I love drawing, painting and printing. I play the accordion, piano and melodica (which I guess are all really the same instrument). I love doing anything outside. Hiking, biking, ultimate frisbee, hackey sack, just hanging out with friends. It's all good.

Why I am a Mormon

As someone who grew up in the church I've encountered people who think I only have faith because it's what I've been taught since I was a kid. That's not true, though. Throughout high school and my year of college I had many doubts, but like our church encourages I put the teachings to the test. Through the things I have experienced and felt as I've lived the gospel of Jesus Christ I've come to my own knowledge that this church is God's church. We have a living prophet who is here to guide us. We can each speak with God through prayer and receive personal answers, and as we listen our lives will be blessed.

How I live my faith

I've never had many LDS friends, which is completely fine with me. My friends come from all sorts of religious and social backgrounds. I've really come to appreciate the individual worth of every person and I do my best to see them as God sees them, with love. I try to show my faith in how I live and act. Hopefully I've done a good job. My faith has taught me to help other people. I love volunteering and I try to do it often.
