Hi I'm Tom

I grew up in California. I am a retired school teacher. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired school teacher. I have taught grades K-8th. One of my highlights of being a teacher is to see the progression of my students. I have 3 children and 6 grandchildren from 1 to 10 years old. I have two more coming in December. I love being a grandfather. I also like to read. One of my favorites is historical fiction. I also love to travel with my wife. We have been to parts of Europe and would like to go back. One of our favorite places is Italy.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon at the age of 17. I prayed and received a witness by the Holy Ghost that Christ truly is our Savior and the Son of our Heavenly Father. It was also revealed to me that He restored His true church and authority through the prophet Joseph Smith. As a member I have received many blessings by serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have read the Book of Mormon and know, like the Bible, it's the word of God. I know we have a living prophet today. His name is Thomas S. Monson. He guides and gives directions to my life. What a blessing it is to be a member.

How I live my faith

I have served in many positions in my church. One of my favorites is working with the youth. I have also enjoyed teaching children about Christ's life and how important He is to us. The leadership positions I have served in have helped me to realize that our Heavenly Father loves all of us and expects us to help others. I have strengthened my faith in Christ as I have read the Holy Scriptures. Learning about Christ and his teachings gives me a path that I want to follow. I want to be more like Him in all aspects of my life.
