Hi I'm Carl

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I live in Gig Harbor, Washington, USA.

About Me

When I'm not at work you can probably find me spending time with family and/or in the great outdoors (or possibly tinkering in the garage on some DIY project). Although my wonderful wife isn't a huge outdoors person, she will sometimes tag along for a low-key outdoor getaway such as hiking or fishing. My boy of 2 is already quite the trooper, having been on his first camping trip earlier this year. My biggest passion is hunting, which you can bet I'm planning the next years big trip for, even before this years over.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this faith gives clear answers to lifes most basic questions - questions that other religions or fields of study cannot answer alone because they rely on man's understanding only. This Church was and is founded on the principle of continuing revelation from heaven. I have read the Book of Mormon and have come to know that it is true. The interesting thing is that for me it's the Book of Mormon that proves that the Bible is also true. Two different accounts or two different groups of people during approximately the same time period of history. My educational and career background is in science and engineering. Some people see science and religion at odds with each other. In this church I see them supporting each other. As an example (for you science and engineering folks out there) take the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Now look at what science has discovered about how well natural processes are designed, from the anatomy of a living cell to the interactions of planets and stars. There is no way that this resulted without intervention from someone and man's own "laws of thermodynamics" support that. It's just too well "engineered". This church gives the answer of who that "Master Engineer" is and what my relationship is to Him. The best part is that everyone can receive their own divine witness that what is taught in this church is true. For me it was though feelings inspired by the Holy Ghost - which everyone can feel if they humble themselves in prayer.

How I live my faith

I teach a sunday class once a month to other guys in my ward (congregation) about various topics of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I try to always show love and kindness to my family. I seek divine guidance in important desicions. I am always trying to improve myself and be a better disciple of the savior.
