Hi I'm Zack Shorts

I love playing sports and music. I'm serving a mission in San Antonio, Texas. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Santa Monica, CA and moved to Thousand Oaks, CA soon after. My family stayed there until 2004 and then we moved to Gilbert, AZ. We have lived there since then. I am the second oldest of five kids. I have three sisters and one brother and a great set of parents. They are my best friends! I played baseball in high school and found my favorite thing to do was pitch. That has always been my favorite part of baseball. I also enjoy playing basketball and practically any sport. I have been in band playing trumpet, and also in choir where I sang as a tenor. I play piano and also picked up guitar in high school and have been learning it ever since. That is where I put most of my musical efforts. After high school, I was accepted to Brigham Young University in Provo where I am currently attending. I plan to major in something dealing with math or science. I have postponed my education for the next two years to serve a mission for this church in San Antonio, Texas. It will not be the easiest or most convenient option, not by any stretch. But I know that this gospel is true and I must share it's teachings to whoever will listen so that they can feel the joy that I have felt from it!

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know it to be true. I have come to this knowledge from much prayer and studying. I have read the Book of Mormon and have felt the Holy Ghost testify of it's truthfulness while reading it. I have never been more sure of anything in my life. I am a Mormon because it has made me a better son, brother, and man. I am trying everyday to be a better person to prove to my God that I am worth it. This gospel outlines our purpose and plan and is designed by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to make us happy. That is why I am a Mormon; It makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by attending church and trying to show Christ-like love to those around me. One duty I had in church was to teach the members my age and I loved opening up and sharing with them each week. I have participated in the programs set up for the youth. They have given me a solid foundation of friends and examples that have uplifted me and helped me find my way through life. I have also participated in Boy Scouts of America along with my church activities. I am an Eagle Scout, and have learned many things on the path to that award. We were taught how to work, how to provide meaningful service, and how to be prepared.
