Hi I'm Kenyon

I am a college student, an aspiring small-business owner and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life. I try to live positively, and make the most out of every situation that I find myself in. I love playing sports. In particular, I love hockey. I am working on my associate's degree in science at Utah Valley University. I am part owner of Aspen Services in Colorado with my father and younger brother. I was born in California in the year 1990 as the first of five children to my parents, Lance and Elizabeth. We moved to Utah three years later to promote my dad's construction company. I grew up in Utah County, moving to different cities as my dad built homes for us to live in that we would later sell. After the housing market crashed my dad lost his company and our livelihood. We lost almost everything. It was a humbling experience going from having so much to so little. We have since moved to Colorado to get a new start. It has been great.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church. I feel so blessed to have been born into a member family of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love the Book of Mormon. I can attest to the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon as I have asked my Heavenly Father in prayer to know of the truth. I have felt the power in its writings in my own life. I feel the best when I live by the standards put forth by Authorities of the Church who are directed by God. I can relate to the story of Job, having lost almost all of what my family possessed. It was a very difficult time and we were blessed with work enough to get by. We received much needed help from the Church. The families in our ward were there for us in that difficult time. I find strength knowing that as Job did, we can look to our Father in Heaven for any help that we need and He will bring us aid. Whether through people who will cross our paths or His own, distinct ways. If we keep His commandments and follow His elected Prophet on this earth we will find happiness, I know this from experience. I hope to find greater happiness in my quest to form my own eternal family and lead a life that is pleasing to my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I served as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, as many others have, for 2 years. I served my mission in the south of Guatemala. There is where I learned to love the Latin people and found out how much the Savior and our Heavenly Father love us. I left August 2009 and returned the same month in 2011. I am currently serving in a young single adult ward (or congregation) as a Sunday School teacher in the Gospel Doctrine class. In class we discuss living the gospel in our day to day lives. I love sharing the gospel with other young single adults like myself and I learn just as much from them as from the material I use to prepare my lessons.
