Hi I'm Ben

I'm a father of three boys. I'm an IT professional. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in southeast Idaho in a rural community. There I spent most of the day riding my bicycle or roaming the mountain side. As I grew older I enjoyed the mountains on horseback, motor bikes, hiking, fishing and hunting. I even lived in Alaska where my family enjoyed the tremendous fishing possibilities there. Due to my time in the mountains I now enjoy nature photography. Being the father of three boys, I also enjoy photographing each of their sport events. I enjoy my career as an IT professional playing with new technologies. As a father, I love answering the many questions that comes from small boys. My wife and I have been married for almost 12 years. We work hard to love, play, teach and provide a secure environment for our boys and each other.

Why I am a Mormon

One family vacation we had the opportunity to visit the beach. During this visit, the family enjoyed making many different sand castles. Over a period of time the waves eventually caught up to the sand castles and destroyed them. It then became a challenge to the family to see if we could protect the sand castles from the waves, we were not successful! To me the gospel of Jesus Christ is an unmoving rock in a sea of shifting sand. I love the stability of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when it seems everything else is moving. One of the truths taught is the worth of the family and the ability to remain a family for eternity. During my twelve years of marriage I have enjoyed the best times of my life, laughing, playing and feeling at peace with world. There have also been times of extreme difficulty where I have question whether or not it was worth sticking together. When I relied on the truths taught by Jesus Christ and prayed for help, his spirit always came and comforted me. It gave me the strength to continue on regardless of how difficult the task was. Today my wife and I look back on each of those moments as stepping stone and accept them as part of the foundation of our relationship! I know this is what the Lord intended, for families to be eternal!

How I live my faith

I love to teach! As a member I have taught adult, youth and children classes at different times in my life. I also enjoyed teaching English to the people of Brazil while I served a two year mission. As a father I am constantly looking for ways to teach truths from the scriptures, science and other life lessons to my boys. It is an amazing experience to see them understand and learn those truths that I hold so dear. This is an amazing experience.
