Hi I'm Hyrum

I was born in Indiana and live in Michigan. I now go to school in Lakewood high school. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I like reading, playing the piano, and eating out. My favorite author is Brandon Sanderson. I like a lot of other fantasy books but his are my favorite. I am capable of playing the piano, but only a little. I can do basic songs and learn more intense songs if I try. I practice a little every day and I think I'm improving. My favorite food is sushi. I can't make it myself, so I eat out a lot.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church and when I was little I had the "I'll go because mom and dad want me to go" mentality. But during my teenage years I had some trials. Those trials really built up my testimony and my conviction that this church is true, and it kind of had a domino effect. The more I knew this church was true the more I wanted to go. The more I wanted to go the more I knew about God. The more I knew about God the more I grew to love Him. And the dominoes are still going, and I think they'll continue to build and affect each other until I either die or become perfect. I know that this church is true, I know that Joseph Smith was a great prophet and translated the book of Mormon, I know that a living prophet still walks among us, I know that Christ died for us and I know that we have trials set specifically to us and those help us grow. I love this church and all it has done for me.

How I live my faith

I was born in the church so I'm not sure how I would be if I wasn't a mormon. I just know that because I am a mormon I have higher standards than most of my friends. For example, I don't swear, I've never used drugs, and I don't drink alcohol. I don't rub it in their faces or anything, I just try to avoid those things as much as possible. I was taught to be courteous and kind when I met people with different beliefs. I go to church regularly and I've learned a lot from going. I try to always make it to church service projects. I'm also always striving to be a better person, I think the root of that desire comes from being raised in my church. I'm really close with my family and I know a lot of my genealogy because I'm a mormon.
