Hi I'm Eli

I grew up in Idaho. I board and bike off mountains. I'm a father of two. Work construction. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Idaho, and started working for my dad when I was 12 years old. I like hard work. I also like playing hard! I grew up skiing, snowboarding, skating, long boarding, wake boarding and recently started down hill biking and dirt biking...and playing soft ball with my coworkers. I now work construction renovating hotels around the US. The nice thing is I can bring my family with me as we go from job to job. My beautiful wife is from Southern California and we have two stinking cute little girls. That's pretty much my life, nice and simple. Work hard, play hard when you can, and most important is family!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is true! I know that I have a Heavenly Father who is there, who loves me, and who listens to me. I know that He answers prayers. God answers everyone's prayers. So the biggest reason i am a Mormon, instead of Catholic or anything else, is in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints God has restored all of the truths and authority that were in His original church. He has given us prophets and apostles who lead and guide His church. His gospel is consistent and unchanging. And so is His Church!

How I live my faith

My situation is kind of different from most people just because of the job that I have. We move one to three or four times a year. That means we are in a new ward and get to meet a lot of new people every time we move. The nice thing is the Church is the same everywhere we go. The people are different...way different, but the church is the same! I live my faith by doing the simple everyday things like praying with my family and reading the scriptures. And going to all three hours of church every week! Going to church, reading, and praying don't seem like big miraculous ways to live my faith, but even just by doing these little things my family and I have been blessed more that I can express. We have been blessed with a happy, loving life. I'm not saying life is super easy or anything, but it is happy and loving!

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Eli
Talk to Him! He is there, and he loves you! You talk to him through prayer. Don't even worry if you've never prayed before. He will hear you, and he will answer you. Find a nice quiet time and place, kneel down, and ask Him, in your own words, for Reassurance that he is there and and that He loves you. If you ask with Real intent, you will feel something. I feel peace and confidence when I ask him. It's an awesome feeling! Show more Show less
