Hi I'm AubriAnna Winsor

I'm from Arizona, I have been called to the Mexico Aguascalientes Mission, I am a self taught piano player and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is AubriAnna. I have lived in Arizona for 13 years and I can't imagine living anywhere else. I am the youngest of 5 children and I love my parents. I finished my first year of college as a Music Education Major and I absolutely loved what I have learned. I love music so much, sometimes I call myself a "music-aholic." I began to play the violin in 4th grade and thought I would do nothing else. But I wasn't necessarily "passionate" about it. My older sister was in high school choir and was one of the top singers. She was in many Regional choirs and All-State choirs. My parents also sang and were very passionate about it. I, on the other hand, hated it... I did NOT sing. My family begged and pleaded to hear my singing voice, but I stuck with violin. Until I entered the 7th grade, I was introduced to the piano. I was addicted! The notes were similar to the violin and I could figure out how to play. Jon Schmidt, William Joseph, etc. I was hooked. I have now been teaching myself for 6 years and can play very well. Now, when I entered into high school I was still playing the violin but I was now annoyed with it - but I couldn't quit music! Well, I decided to enroll in the Women's Choir...and I found my voice. My sophomore, junior and senior years were impacted GREATLY by the choir I was in. I was able to be in the same Regional choir as my older sister did and I, now, can't stop singing!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been called to serve in the Aguascalientes, Mexico Mission and I have been so grateful for this calling. I have chosen to be a member of His church because, "...this is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen." (2 Nephi 31:21) I am the youngest of 5 children and all my older siblings have fallen from the path. I have felt alone and afraid many times in my life as I watched them slowly turn away. I have witnessed many things that they have done and it has truly been a trial on my family. But I know, this Gospel is the only way and is the only path to everlasting happiness. Despite their choices, I love my siblings and I am blessed to call them my family. We're not perfect, but I know through Jesus Christ we can be made perfect again and I know we will be all together in the temple someday. I know my choice serve the people in Mexico will bless my siblings and somehow the Lord will be able to bring them back into His fold. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and I have been blessed by it. It has given me instructions on how to find joy while on this Earth and how to not judge other people. I know Joseph Smith saw our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. I am thankful for this Gospel and how it has blessed my parents. They are strong and have a powerful spirit, despite what we have gone through. They know the Gospel is the correct and only way. I am thankful for their love of the scriptures, without that love I know I wouldn't be serving a mission or even typing this! I know President Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet today and he does receive revelation from Heavenly Father. I know Heavenly Father knows me personally and loves me. He wants me home with Him. In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

Through different organizations in the church (Seminary, Young Women's and Relief Society) I have had many callings. In each year of high school, I have Seminary Class President at least once. It was challenging and scary, but I enjoyed conducting classes and sharing my testimony each day before I turned the time over to my teacher. In Young Women's (Beehives, Mia Maids and Laurels) at my church, I was called as 1st or 2nd counselor/President. Being in these positions daily, I truly gained an appreciation for those who teach me and love/know me personally. I was able to get to know the girls in my classes and love them for who they were. I learned not to judge their choices and to not criticize. And that came easier as I continued to love them for who they were. Whenever I was a counselor I was able to have meetings with that assigned President, discuss future activities that could help the other girls grow and how we can help certain girls. I am now serving as a music chorister and I love it! I find out what the lesson will be on and find hymns that could touch other people's lives. I truly found out that church music can bless any person's lives and the words are truly inspired in each song.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

AubriAnna Winsor
Pornography is an addictive poison that has the same power to destroy marriages and families, just like alcohol and drugs. It is dangerous and it can destroy the human spirit. We can stop the spread by not wanting to look at it, to begin with. Movies, TV shows and other entertainment have SOME sort of pornography... break the urge to watch them. Pornography puts a huge titanium wall between you and the Holy Ghost. Constantly be involved in good activities that invite a happy, loving Spirit. From experience, always be involved in something. I was in pole vaulting and that helped me stay busy/away from spirit degrading activities. Also, do NOT be on a computer behind closed doors. The scriptures tell us not to be involved in any secretive activities - the Spirit cannot reside when we're doing things in secret and Satan has a better chance of influencing us when we are in secret. If you want to go on a computer and you don't want anyone to see what you're doing, find something else to do! Constantly seek the Spirit ... don't be secretive and be an example!! Show more Show less
