Hi I'm Karen

I'm a scientist, I enjoy the outdoors and travelling to other countries and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a physicist working in a radiotherapy department. I enjoy being able to use my scientific knowledge to help other people. When I'm not at work I love being in the outdoors - working in my garden, being in the mountains combined with travelling to other parts of the world. I run a girlguide unit and enjoy taking them to camp, cooking on campfires and doing activities with them

Why I am a Mormon

Having been brought up as a member of the church by my parents I still had to gain my own knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel. As a scientist, I've been taught to question, challenge and to think about ideas and concepts, as we develop our faith there are some things which can not be explained in the way a scientist would test a theory but there are many which can - as we test and experiment with our faith we can see the results of those experiments and know of the truthfulness of the teachings of the gospel. As I've read the Book of Mormon, the principles taught within its' pages make sense to me, they provide a wonderful pattern by which to live our lives. As I look at the beautiful world around me I can see God's hand in masterminding such a wonderful creation and as I kneel in prayer I have felt His love for me as a daughter.

How I live my faith

I try to remember my Saviour Jesus Christ as I interact with those around me - although I'm not always successful. At church I am a leader in the women's organisation and look for ways to help other women to strengthen their testimonies of Jesus Christ
