Hi I'm Mike Dunlavy

I'm retired and have lived all my life in Utah.

About Me

I worked 37 years for the State of Utah. Now I enjoy being a Grandfather to our seven grand kids. Living almost 40 years in Utah's desert Southwest I have grown accustomed to hot dry summers and enjoy the moderate and pleasant winters. I like to garden, especially growing tomatoes. Also, my wife and I enjoy traveling. One of our goals is to tour each State Capital. So far we have visited 24.

Why I am a Mormon

Just living in Utah and being raised in a rich Mormon environment doesn't mean I automatically knew that Jesus in our Savior or that his Church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. These truths and others have come to me a little at a time over a long time, years actually. However, they continue each day, sort of never ending. Scripture and advise given by and through the teachings of Prophets and Church leaders have shown me how to find and stay close to the Gospel.

How I live my faith

As a young father I took the opportunity to join the Boy Scouts of America when my sons did. I served several years as a leader with the BSA and feel that Scouting and Church service help Americas young men to be good citizens. I have held several ward and stake callings within the Church and enjoy serving as called upon. I especially like to home teach members each month and share our experiences living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
