Hi I'm Kyron Craven

My name is Kyron Craven, I'm from Layton Ut, I enjoy working hard and playing harder, I'm a Missionary in the CFM and I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Kyron Craven. I was born and raised in Layton Utah. I am the youngest of 5. I went to Layton High School and I am serving in California Fresno Mission. Never Surrender! Never Quit! No Regrets!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church on this planet. I was raised in the church and I come from many generations of great Mormons. I have found out for myself, however, that this church is true. Joseph Smith was a true prophet and he translated the Book Of Mormon and he restored this great gospel in this the latter days. Thomas S. Monson leads this church today and he holds all the keys of the priesthood and is the true and only prophet on the earth. But most importantly I know that my Savior lives and he is not only my hero but he is my best friend. He died for me and he atoned for my sins personally...and that is why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

As a Missionary, you live your faith everyday by helping other "Come unto Christ and be perfected in him". I have found complete joy and some of lives greatest blessings serving as a Missionary. Truly when we get lost in in our Saviors work we are found. "Share the gospel at all times...and if necessary use words." Pure Christlike service and love is what I do to live my faith. The importance of being a example in word, deed and thought can not be overemphasized!

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Kyron Craven
Baptism is one of the greatest blessings a person can have in their life! We believe that a person must be baptized by one having proper authority from God. What does this mean? It means that a person needs to be baptized by someone having the Lords Authority (or Priesthood), which was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. We follow the Savior's example of Baptism in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We get baptized by full immersion, by someone that has the authority to do so. We know that when someone is properly baptized is allows for a remission of their sins. Infants and children have no need to be baptized because we believe that they are pure in heart and are redeemed through the Savior. Once a individual is able to understand and recognize the significance of making right and wrong choices, then the individual is able to choose to be baptized and by his or her own choice. Baptism is a covenant or a promise we make with God. We covenant with God when we are baptized that we will always remember him and keep his commandments. In keeping these covenants he promises us that we can have the His Spirit to be with us at all time. What a blessing this is! And it can only come through baptism by proper authority. How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Kyron Craven
The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ, or in other words it is another witness that Jesus is the Savior and Redeemer of the World. The Bible tells us "that out of the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established". The Book of Mormon does exactly that. The Book of Mormon is different from the Bible because while the Prophets were prophesying about Jesus Christ in Jerusalem...the Book of Mormon is a account of Prophets prophesying here in the Americas. A prophet named Joseph Smith was guided by our Heavenly Father to a sacred place near his home in upstate New York, to uncover and translate the Book of Mormon, from a ancient language (written on gold plates) into English. He did this by the power of God. The Book of Mormon with the Bible, have the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Together they testify that Christ is our risen Lord and Savior, and that only through him can we be saved. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Kyron Craven
Faith is so important! Faith is much, much more then a passive belief. When we have faith it should lead us to do something about it! (John 7:17) We can have faith in many different things in this life. We can have faith in our favorite sports team, we can have faith in our schooling or children, however the most important thing to have faith in, is Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Having faith in the Lord means that you believe him to be the Savior and Redeemer of the world and that through him we can be forgiven of our wrongdoings and with his help we can make it back to our father in Heaven again someday, but it is more then just that. Our faith in Jesus Christ should lead us to want to change our lives (repent) so that we can more fully follow him. Sometimes we might not know what to expect fully or we might not know what the future holds for us, but faith in Jesus Christ enables us to 'take a few steps into the darkness, expecting and hoping that God will light the way'. I often think of Peter walking on water. True faith is taking a step out on the water with full trust that Christ is going to provide a way. Peter tried something he never had done before while the rest of the apostles stayed in the boat. Indeed Peters faith led him to miracles. Similarly our Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ should lead to actions that will provide miracles in our person lives. Show more Show less
