Hi I'm Seth

I grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho and I am a Mormon. And I'm always looking for ways to make people smile.

About Me

I enjoy learning new things and I like to stay involved in everything going on around me. I tend to stay up to date on what's going on in the world whether it be international relations, trade disputes, or just big sporting events going on in the world. During high school I was on the debate team where I learned how to have discussions not to argue. I consider myself a good public speaker and I love to give presentations and to be in front of people showing them what I know. In school giving an oral presentation was my favorite thing to do. I will be attending BYU Provo in Fall of 2015, but for right now I am a missionary in the England London South Mission and loving every second of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the love I get from the church is unimaginable. I feel accepted and loved by everybody. I know that it teaches the truth. The Mormon church is all about showing love and serving others around you. That to me is the best thing that can be done in this world. This world is full of lots of terrible things whether it be wars, terrorism, murder, and this church helps combat all of that. This church helps me know that families can be together forever, and the people I love can be near me for time and all eternity. The teachings of this church talk of happiness and how to obtain it. I don't understand why somebody wouldn't want to be happy at all times. I know that God is with me. There have been times where I have felt like nobody in the world was there for me, but when I get on my knees and talk to god I can physically feel his comfort there for me and I know that he is watching out for me. It's the most amazing feeling and I know without a doubt in my mind that God is there for me. It's this drive that makes me want to be there for everybody else to try and spread the happiness that being a Mormon gives me

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always reaching out to others and looking for opportunities to serve. Being a Mormon to me is about helping others and loving everybody around you. If there is a move in that I know about or a family that needs some yard work done, I try to let people know so that if I can't be there to help somebody can. Everyday is a new day to find somebody that needs help. Everyday I try to find one person that needs help. It can be as simple as saying "Hi" to somebody who is having a bad day. Sometimes it's the simple things that really matter to people. Some people thing that there's this big grand scheme that needs to be done for religion. I believe though that the best way for me to live my faith is by letting God use me as a tool to try and spread love and happiness each and every day to people who need it. In the simplest ways that benefit people the most.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Our church service is all about the congregation teaching each other. Unlike some religions where one person gets up and gives a sermon to the congregation, we have members of the congregation give talks. Their is one member who presides over the meeting with his two counslors and they will decide on a few people to give talks on certain subjects for that week. They will have been told in advance to prepare something for us and share their experiences with the church and how it has blessed them in their lives. We also partake of the sacrament where we remember the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us. After this service we have classes about scripture or doctrine taught by members of the congregation that are designed to help us learn more. Visitors are always welcome and we love to have them be a part of our services. We would love for anybody who is interested to attend church and I know that they can have a good experience if they decide to come. Show more Show less
