Hi I'm Mike

I live in South West England , I am a husband, a father, a grandfather, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student of environmental science with the open university, I am a singer in a rock and blues band (only for fun), I have a group of friends that enjoy playing strategy and role playing games, and if an opportunity presented itself to go snow skiing I would be on it in a flash. I am bipolar and have been learning over the last several years how to better manage my condition with some success, through a combination of medical and psychological expertise, medication and faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I began going to church with my family shortly after getting married. I had decided that I would never join an organised religion, but that the right place to be on a sunday was at church with my wife and daughters. Over a 2 year period of learning about Jesus Christ I began to know him and feel the spirit testifying the truth of the gospel to me. I became converted in the true sense, I felt the atonement work in my life and was baptised on an easter sunday.

How I live my faith

I volunteer one day a week teaching IT to mainly elderly people or people with learning difficulties. I have found that one of the best ways to help with my own struggle of managing bipolar disorder is to serve others, it is very difficult to focus on personal negative feelings or emotions, when you are focused on helping (serving) others.
