Hi I'm Ashley

I am serving a mission in Korea! I'm so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

Because I am a military dependent, I have had the opportunity to live in many different parts of the United States and overseas. I love to travel. I like to experience new cultures by taking in the history, art, and traditions of each place I travel. I have found that my love of travel complements my love of learning. I just finished my second year of college. It is important for me to realize my goals of graduating with a bachelors and masters degree. However, I decided to defer enrollment so that I could serve an LDS mission. This is honestly the best decision I could have made. Serving a mission has been a lifelong dream for me. I am currently serving my mission! I have never felt so fulfilled in my life. I feel so close to my Savior. Each day I am more grateful for his beautiful gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always known that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was Christ's church restored on the Earth. Ever since I was little, I have felt the Spirit confirm this to me. When I am following the example of my Savior, I feel great peace. I am so very grateful for my Savior. I know that he lived and died for me. I also know that he loves me and knows how to help me because He performed the infinite atoning sacrifice. Personally, I feel that the promise of eternal families taught in Christ's church is one of principles I most treasure. I, like many others, love my family beyond what words can express. Therefore, I find such immense joy in the knowledge that I can be together with them forever. Also, I am so grateful to know that I have a Father in Heaven who desires this as well. He wants what is best for me because he is the Father of my Spirit. I am one of his daughters. We are all his children. He is hoping that each of us decide to follow Christ and return back to Him again after this life. Knowing these truths has blessed my life.

How I live my faith

There are countless ways I have been able to live my faith. I think one of the best ways for me to live my faith has been to engage in service. I know that I have been extremely blessed in my life. I try to show I am grateful for this by accepting church callings, being involved in my community, and looking for additional opportunities of service. When I do these things, I am following the example of my Savior. The decision to become a missionary is one specific example. I want with all my heart to bring the gospel to others. I want them to know of our Father in Heaven's plan of happiness, the remarkable restoration, and the perfect gospel of Jesus Christ. Another way I feel I have lived my faith is by being open about my beliefs. Growing up, I had friends of many different faiths. I decided that the best way to share my beliefs was to live them. Naturally, questions would follow. My goal has been to always be ready to answer questions my friends might have about the principles of the LDS church. Now that I am serving a mission I am grateful for what I learned growing up. Each day I put on my name tag that has my name and the Savior's. Whenever I catch a glimpse of my tag, I am filled with joy. It is incredibly humbling to be serving Jesus Christ.
