Hi I'm Jim May

I grew up in Utah, I love the outdoors, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a large loving family of nine children. Our parents taught us the value of work. My father was a Masonry contractor and taught his 6 sons to be master brick masons. That skill has served me well throughout my life. My life has been full of joys and sorrows (mostly joys). I grew up a member of the LDS church and have always been faithful. I have a wonderful wife and we are parents of two girls and three boys. They have brought much joy to our lives. Our 10 grandchildren (soon to be 12) have increased that joy many times over. I obtained a degree in Computer Science from Utah State University and have spent my career working with technology. I love the outdoors. The Mountains, desert and sandstone of Utah provide a wonderful playground and I love hiking, backpacking, canyoneering, Jeeping and just exploring God's wonderful creations.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon from the day I was born. when I was young I grew to love the gospel of Jesus Christ through the loving example and teaching of my parents. As I have grown older, I have studied the doctrines and teachings of the Church and have come to have great faith in God and his Son Jesus Christ. My faith comes from seeing his handiwork, and striving to live the teachings of Jesus Christ. I am proud to be a Mormon. Just look at what the Church accomplishes and you can see God's hand in it. My wife and I are currently serving a Full time mission for our church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Much of my life has been spent with the youth. I love young people. they have so much promise and potential. I have been on more scout camps than I can count. I have enjoyed teaching the youth both in church settings and in the outdoors. I have spent many hours working on community and church sponsored service projects. I love to help people. I love to stop and help people who are stranded on the road and keep tools in my car for just those occasions. It always makes me feel good to know that I have helped someone.
