Hi I'm Bekah Smith

I'm a missionary, I'm an older sister, I love the outdoors! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love school! I attended a small homeschool group which I graduated from when I was 16. I started college the following semester. After attending school for a few years, I still have no clue what I want to do, but I do know a lot of things I don't want to go into! I grew up in an LDS family. We love the outdoors! We go to the lake every year, and water ski, wakeboard, skurf, and loads of other things. I love music. I've been playing piano on and off since I was 11. Nothing is better than conquering a difficult piece and preforming it at a recital!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I continue to choose everyday of my life to be an active member of this church. Being a member of this church allows me opportunities to act on my faith in Jesus Christ. It gives me the chance to learn more than I ever could anywhere else. This Church teaches the FULLNESS of Christ's Gospel. Through living that Gospel everyday, we can experience never ending happiness. That doesn't mean that life isn't hard, but it does mean, that we can be happy in what ever situation we find ourselves in.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others! The Savior taught that as we serve others, we are serving Him. Service is important, and it comes in many different forms. I'm a huge fan of smiling and waving at people in the car. Kind of corny, I know, but I hear a smile can go a long way, and help lift other spirit's up. I also serve other people as we help people out, and listen when they are going through a hard time. Service is how I show my love for other people, and my love for my Savior.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Bekah Smith
The Book of Mormon is second testimony of Jesus Christ. It goes hand in hand with the Bible. Together, both books have the fullness of Christ's Gospel. Around the year 600 BC, God commanded a prophet named Lehi and his family to flee from Jerusalem. They traveled to the Promised Land (the Americas). God called prophets to live among these people. It is named after one of the last prophets, Mormon. He complied the writings of ancient prophets to create a book for our day. The Book of Mormon is the record of these people and their wars with one another. The Book of Mormon Prophets testify of Christ. They knew he would come and redeem His people. You can come closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ, by reading and pondering the message that the Book of Mormon contains. I know that if you pray, and ask God with an open mind, and an open heart, willing to act upon the answer you will receive, you will come to know by the Power of the Holy Ghost that it is true.
