Hi I'm Devin Jared Despain

I Have played the piano since I was 5 and Taught Piano for two years. I have 4 siblings and am the oldest. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I Recently Graduated from high school. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA and plan to go to BYU or BYU Hawaii After My Mission. I Have many hobbies, ranging from music to sports. I have played the piano since the age of 5 and had the opportunity to teach kids piano for two years as a junior and senior in high school. I also have played baseball since the age of 4, but stopped after my sophomore year due to a shoulder surgery. I began doing triathlons my freshman year and have completed around 7 triathlons, even winning my age group 3 or 4 times. After my shoulder surgery, which happened December of 2011, I wasn't medically cleared to do any athletic activity with my arm for 4-6 months. So I focused on bike riding, and completed a 100 mile bike ride in May of 2012. I love to snow ski, wake surf, wake board, play any sport, and hang ou with friends. I have 4 siblings, all younger than me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I have gained a testimony of the church through prayer and scripture study, as well as attending church, pondering and asking questions, and striving to gain a greater knowledge of what the church teaches. I have gained a testimony of christ and the atonement, and I know that through him, we can return to live with our heavenly father for eternity again. I also know the Book of Mormon to be true. I have seen it's influence in my life and know that I have received a confirmation of its truthfulness from the Holy Ghost. I know that this church is Gods true church restored again on the earth today, and that it was restored by the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that we continue to have living prophets on the Earth today, and that Thomas S. Monson leads the church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by setting an example and sharing my beliefs with those around me. I help out in my ward by being the ward choir pianist. I also have the opportunity to teach the 12-13 year old sunday school class. I have been called to serve in the Ghana Accra Mission, reporting to the Ghana MTC on October 18th. I can't wait to go serve and teach the people in the Ghana Accra Mission. I know that it is the Lords plan for me to go and serve there, and that he will bless me with inspiration and guidance as I prepare myself to serve.
