Hi I'm Brittany

I love adventures! Travel, hiking, water sports, extreme sports, etc. I enjoy loving God, loving people, and having a blast!

About Me

I moved across the country when I was 20 years old. From Atlanta, GA to Newport Beach, CA, I was looking for an adventure and I was looking for freedom. I have always been a seeker, wanting to know truth, understand life, and understand myself. My journey has been a continual effort to live life to the fullest and I tend to be somewhat of an extremist. I love to push myself outside of my comfort zone because this is where I feel the most alive and feel the most personal growth. I cannot get enough of outdoor activities, whether it is at the beach, in the mountains, or on the other side of the world! I love meeting people and sharing life's journey with others. I find so much joy and fulfillment when I share various experiences with various people.

Why I am a Mormon

I struggled through my understanding and acceptance of God, I never having a personal relationship or testimony of His hand in my life. At one point in time, I wasn't even sure if there was a God. I didn't understand how everyone else seemed to know and believe in Him, but I didn't have the slightest clue of who He was - what was I missing? Eventually, I found that happiness was nearly impossible for me to achieve without having faith. I returned to the Christian church I once attended as a child, seeking the freedom and peace that was promised in Christ. I meet the missionaries in an effort to support someone else in their spiritual journey. He was experiencing a difficult time in life and wanted to return to the church he grew up in. I agreed to go, in support of my friend. I had no idea what a Mormon was, not even a clue what the LDS church stood for. I thought the lessons were for my friend, but it turns out I received a magnitude of understanding and personal revelation for myself - apparently the lessons are for everyone, struggling or not! Hearing the Doctrines of the Gospel and being introduced the idea of the Restoration of Christ's church and His people moved me and touched my heart in powerful way I could not deny. The Plan of Salvation brought me to tears and my spirit testified of it's truth. I could not deny the spirit of the people, I could not deny the spirit in the Church, I could not deny the spirit I felt in the lessons, and I absolutely could not deny my own spirit's testimony. It was as if I had heard this all before. I did not know everything about the church when I knew I wanted to be a member, and to be honest, I still don't. There is much to learn and much growing to do! But what I can tell you, is that my heart and my spirit know enough to know this Church is true. My introduction to the Church has opened up a whole new world of faith, fulfillment, peace, and joy that I have never felt before!

How I live my faith

I am relatively new to my church community and find it important to stay active and accountable. You will always, always find me at church on Sundays! I show up to as many activities as my schedule will allow, but am sure to make time to personal scripture study and prayer at home. Although I have been a member for one year, I still take lessons with the Missionaries to continually develop my faith and strengthen my testimony. I find meetings with the Bishop are important, because if I am going to live a virtuous, fruitful life - I need accountability and guidance to do so! I try to surround myself with people who will encourage me and my relationship with Heavenly Father.
