Hi I'm Amanda Wood

I love Theatre, I've been to Culinary School, I can sing and dance my heart out, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

If I'm not at work, you can find me two places. At home in the Kitchen with my family cooking or at Church serving others through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I spent a year in Culinary School and am taking about 2 years off so I can serve the Lord through an 18 month Mission. I absolutely love anything to do with art. Dancing, Theatre, Painting, Drawing, Pottery, anything! It helps us express ourselves through a creative medium and lets us be free for a little while. I also love this Gospel and Church. I probably would not be where I am today if it weren't for the Atonement of Christ and the strong Testimony I received through my teachers, siblings, and Parents.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church, but I questioned it's truthfulness when I was a little older. I have since then gained a testimony through the Young Women, Seminary, and Institute programs through my teenage years. I know that this Church is the true Church of God. And that it was restored by Joseph Smith, our first Prophet, and that he, through the power of God, translated the Book of Mormon from the Brass Plates. I know that as we read the scriptures we can gain knowledge of the past and what will happen in the future. We can also gain personal revelation through reading the scriptures with a sincere question in mind. I know without doubt that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know who I am and that they love me. And I know that they know what we all face and what we go through. I'm so grateful for my opportunity to serve and to help other people come to know that they love us and care for us.

How I live my faith

I served as a Secretary in the Young Women Presidency of my ward. I worked with the teenage girls to help them know the truthfulness of our church and help them know that they are loved by those around them. Teaching them about subjects from the Priesthood to the Plan of Salvation and so forth. I love serving them and I have learned so much from them. I've recently received my Mission Call to the New Mexico Farmington Mission and am VERY excited to take my testimony of this Gospel to those people I will serve while I am out in the world.
