Hi I'm John

I am a 60-year-old Human Resource Director, father of 5 and grandfather of 5+. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy ping pong. I play a couple of times each week. I had a chance to serve an LDS Mission in Spain and that has led to my being able to work with Spanish-speaking congregations here in the Salt Lake City area. I have been in the Human Resource field for more than 30 years. I love being a grandfather.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon and stay a Mormon because of the myriad times I have felt the spirit of our Father in Heaven and the Holy Ghost confirming to me the truthfulness of the principles taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I feel a particular love coming from the Savior toward me. I feel a responsibility, because of those thoughts and feelings, to share them with others that might benefit from these truths I know.

How I live my faith

I have the privilege of serving as a counselor to President Swain who presides over the Salt Lake City West Misssion. It is very satisfying to work with full-time missionaries and see their growth and development as they engage in this marvelous work of extending the message of Jesus Christ to others.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost comes to us here on earth to connect us to heaven and to our Father in Heaven that wants to be connected to us. The Holy Ghost comes as impressions, feelings, and a general sense of goodness as we are teachable and prepared to receive them. Show more Show less
